Kicillof to Present 2026 Budget for Buenos Aires Province

The Governor of Buenos Aires Province, Axel Kicillof, will present this afternoon the 2026 Budget for his district, accompanied by Minister of Economy Pablo López. According to the provincial government, the Nation has a debt of 12.9 trillion pesos with the district. Minister of Government, Carlos Bianco, explained last Friday that Kicillof will expose the 'need' to 'have these instruments to be able to carry forward all his policies in this ruinous context that we are living in Argentina.' The presentation will take place in the Golden Hall of the Government House of La Plata. Unlike what usually happens, this time the project will not go directly to the Provincial Legislature, but will be presented later. In this presentation, Kicillof will justify why the different blocs must approve the law on expenses and resources, added to a possible debt issue, in order to cancel the upcoming maturities. The presence of mayors is linked to demonstrating the support of an important sector of Peronism and, in this way, trying to end the internal conflict within the party that became even more intense after the last legislative elections, where La Libertad Avanza (LLA) led in most provinces. This budget includes the calculations carried out by Kicillof's administration for his seventh year at the head of the province and at the moment of highest tension with the management of President Javier Milei. Several mayors aligned with the provincial governor and most of his cabinet will also be present. The event is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
